Blessed Maria Romero - Small Christian Community (hereafter referred to as BMR), was formed in January 2019, after the Parish priest and the PPC team, decided to restructure all Parish SCC boundaries; as a number of them, either had overlapped in areas where they drew membership or had become too large. BMR was thus one of the resultant new SCC that formed, and draws its membership mainly from previous members of St Josephine Bakhita and Blessed Laura Vicuna, that reside in the areas extending from Syokimau to Athi River, Kitengela, and the surrounding.

BIOGRAPHY OF OUR PATRON SAINT

Maria Romero was born on 13th January 1902 at Granada, Nicaragua, and died in Leon Nicaragua on the 7th of July 1977.

Maria became a Salesian sister in 1923 and lived most of her life in Costa Rica, where, on behalf of young women, she began her social work.

Lord Jesus,

You chose Sr. Maria Romero to follow you in total self-giving,

We praise you oh Lord because the poor could see in Sr. Maria, a reflection of your tenderness and trust Your spirit enabled her to open her heart to everyone

Mary, your mother, was her constant companion and walked with her every step of her journey. Be with us, Lord as we walk in the way of love, and open our hearts to receive the many gifts that you shower upon us so that we, in our turn, become gifts for others.

Through the intercession of St. Pio of Pietrelcina, I confidently beseech You to grant me the grace of (here state your petition).

Father Almighty, we thank you for the gifts you gave Blessed Maria Romero. If it is your will, bless us with her canonization so that others may imitate and carry on her love for the poor and suffering of our world. As she joyfully accepted your divine plans, we ask you according to your will to hear our prayer for...... (Your intention) through Christ our Lord. Amen
